Reductil Side Effects

There are many side effects that Reductil brings with it and while some are quite rare, some are also very common. According to MedGuides, 10% of people who have taken Reductil have experienced some degree of constipation, dry mouth, and difficulty sleeping. There are a number of other symptoms that, although they are mild are experienced by 1 to 10% of users, meaning that they are quite common.
These symptoms include:
  • increased heart rate
  • anxiousness
  • headaches
  • hot flashes
  • light-headedness
  • nausea
  • palpitations
  • paraesthesiae, which is a sensation that can feel like numbness or tingling in any part of the body but especially in the arms, legs, hands, and feet.
Some other very common side effects experienced by the same amount of users are sweating, sudden change in taste, and worsening of hemorrhoids.
There are still however, a massive list of side effects that have unknown instances of how often they occur. These side effects include:
  • abnormal test results
  • increased sensitivity in allergic reactions
  • spotting between menstrual periods
  • excessive bruising
  • blood complications
  • diarrhea
  • gastrointestinal bleeding
  • hair loss
  • heart complications

  • seizures
If you are considering taking Reductil to help you control your weight, it’s important to know that it should only be taken for 12 weeks and that if you begin taking the drug and you and your doctor don’t notice a significant weight loss during that time, he or she will probably take you off Reductil and have you try another weight loss supplement.

Orlistat Side Effects

Some side effects of orlistat, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:

•Signs of liver damage, such as:
  • Loss of appetite
  • Unusual itching
  • Yellow skin (jaundice) or eyes
  • Dark urine or light-colored stool
  • Upper-right abdominal pain (stomach pain)
•Kidney stones
•Severe stomach pain
•Gallbladder disease (or worsening of preexisting gallbladder disease)
•Signs of an allergic reaction, including:
  • Wheezing
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
Orlistat has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials. In these studies, side effects that occur in a group of people taking the drug are documented and are then compared to side effects that occur in another group of people not taking the medicine. This way, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.

In these studies, side effects that affected the digestive system were common (as would be expected, based on how orlistat works). These orlistat side effects included:

•Oily spotting (uncontrolled anal oil seepage)
•Abdominal pain (stomach pain) or discomfort
•Gas with a small amount of oil or stool
•Fecal urgency (an urgent but controlled need to have a bowel movement)
•Fatty or oily stool
•Oily evacuation (bowel movements of just oil, without stool)
•Increased frequency of bowel movements
•Nausea
•Uncontrolled, spontaneous bowel movements (known as fecal incontinence).

Many of the side effects that affect the digestive tract can be avoided or reduced by decreasing the amount of fat in your diet. Because the drug decreases the absorption of fat, more fat stays in the digestive tract, causing many of the bothersome and sometimes embarrassing side effects of this medication. You are more likely to experience these side effects if you eat too much fat. As you continue to take the drug, you will learn how different foods and different amounts of fat affect you. In fact, in studies, these side effects occurred much less commonly in the second year of treatment. If you have consumed a meal that is high in fat and have taken orlistat, you may want to prepare for possible side effects.

Other common side effects with orlistat included:

•The flu
•A respiratory tract infection (such as the common cold)
•Headaches
•Back pain
•Fatigue
•Menstrual irregularity
•Anxiety
•Ear infection.

Adipexin Side Effects

Apidexin claims to assist you to eliminate weight by greatly increasing your metabolism and helping your entire body burn stored body fat at a a lot higher rate. It sets the expectation to lose 4-7 pounds each week. Great, if you only want to reduce 10 pounds or so. However, reviewers of Adipexin have some concerns and call people to "use with caution."

The ingredients in Apidexin are indeed all natural. But the formula stuffs all of the substances into a small 500mg tablet with loads of fillers and binders that serve only to assist you to digest the pill.

Adipexin does support burn body fat, but this can be likely to be muscle body fat and not stored entire body body fat at the cellular level. This can be NOT Healthy because in fitness training, the goal is to reduce stored entire body body fat, not crucial muscle body fat.

For really overweight people, the safest bodyweight loss is 2-4 pounds a week to avoid further pressure on already strained heart muscles. It's safer for persons who have only 10 pounds to reduce to have a faster loss because they don't have the body-wide complications common among larger people. Apidexin makes no differentiation about this point. Thus, Apidexin is prone to cause irregular heart rate. increased blood pressure, restlessness and sleeplessness in obese persons. Not a very good idea!

To retain Apidexin from burning muscle tissue body fat, you may have to keep eating fatty foods so it will burn entire body body fat. This is contradictory to any sensible bodyweight loss program and is also.

Because the stimulant content is so high in Adipexin, you may probably eliminate bodyweight due to the fact of all of the extra energy provided by the product. However, once you finish dieting all that bodyweight will return - and bring its friends! This can be especially true if you continue eating foods which can be high in body fat.

Phenphedrine Side Effects

Phenphedrine is one of the most powerful new diet supplements available on the market today and is also one of a few that in particular targets brain hormones causing hunger cravings which encourage stress eating.

There are two chemicals in the human brain that constantly compete in the hypothalamus. Neuropeptide-Y (NPY) and the Cocaine-Amphetamine Regulatory Track both compete with one another sending different signals to the body. NPY is a stress hormone that sends a body's appetite into overdrive. When NPY becomes stimulated it will decrease your metabolism, in turn lowering the body temperature and increasing your desire to eat.

Phenphedrine is one of few pills that offers a solution to counter NPY. It activates the Cocaine Amphetamine Regulatory Track (CART) through the use of a large dose of vitamins, nutrients and powerful stimulants. Named CART because of the drugs used in activating it, the chemical increases your metabolism, and in turn reduces your appetite to increases insulin which delivers energy to your muscles while at the same time decreases body fat.

Phenphedrine is the one of the most powerful dietary supplement of its kind, and one of few supplements that combat the stress hormones that generally promote weight increases. Phenphedrine targets this gain by using natural ingredients to perform certain tasks.

The main ingredient in Phenphedrine is 250 mg Infinergy® DiCaffeine Malate. This is a powerful caffeine-based compound. Cocaine is the main activator of the CART, but is dangerous and deadly, even though Cocaine was widely used in the 19th century as a pharmaceutical and it was even one of the original ingredients in Coca-Cola. When pharmacists had to find an alternative to the drug after Cocaine was made illegal after WWI, they found that caffeine tended to stimulate the body and mind in a similar way to cocaine, but avoided the being deadly.

Another ingredient is 20 mg Phenylethylamine (PEA). PEA is an amphetamine-like substance that is similar to naturally occurring catecholamine neurotransmitters and their amino acid precursors, tyrosine and phenylalanine. This may be one of the chemicals in the brain that promotes pleasure and euphoria in people. Some call PEA "the Love Drug" and this is extracted from chocolate. It is said to be is responsible for the aphrodisiac-like reaction people have while consuming chocolate.

The plant Humulus lupulus (called HOPS on the label) is unique because it is one of only a couple plants in the family Cannabinaceae, (the other is Marijuana). Extracted from Humulus Lupulus it is an alkaloid called Lupulinum that produces a mild stimulant effect which causes the body to relax. Historically, this has been used in some cases of nervous irritability where opium/narcotics were found to have failed. Humulus lupulus has pain/stress relieving attributes.

Phenphedrine also includes Chocamine which an extract of the cocoa plant. It is pretty much common knowledge that cocoa helps to increase endurance, in fact, marathon runners typically supplement with cocoa extract to help boost their stamina during races. Phenphedrine, it helps users stay focused and energetic during their workouts and daily routines.

Adipozin Side Effects

The claims from Adipozin is that it's possible to lose 4-9 pounds of body weight each average week on average by suppressing appetite and boosting fat burning. These hyped up claims are common among weight loss products and ingredients need to be present in high enough dosages to have an effect. The proportion of each ingredient in Adipozin isn't disclosedso it's difficult to determine if they're present in the required concentrations to promote a significant amount weight loss. The company website doesn't give an indication of where Adipozin is manufactured or the quality control procedures used in the manufacture. Additionally, at this time (of this writing) there isn't any contact address or telephone number for the manufacturer on the website, this is always a cause for concern.

How does Adipozin work?
The Adipozin formula promotes thermogenesis, suppresses appetite and boosts energy levels. It is a generic version of the diet pill Adipozil and therefore generally cheaper to buy. Adipozin does contain some proven ingredients, but because the formula is a proprietary blend of ingredients, it isn't possible to determine if the key ingredients are present at high enough levels to promote significant weight loss.

Adipozin pros
•Some of Adipozin’s ingredients are believed to be safe because they have been assessed in clinical trials
•The official website offers a money-back guarantee

Adipozin cons
•The Adipozin formulation doesn't contain strong appetite suppressing ingredients such as Hoodia or Caralluma
•Adipozin's blend is proprietary blend. It's questionable if there high enough doses of the active ingredients for optimal weight loss effectiveness
•There are no details of the manufacturer, the country where Adipozin is made, product quality control and purity or a contact address are given on the website – this is always a red flag

Adipozin side effects
Many diet pills have side effects and they usually caused by incorporating too many stimulant-based ingredients into their formulations. People who are sensitive to caffeine are susceptible in particular to these side effects. The ingredients in the Adipozin formulation are not harmful in themself but because Adipozin contains caffeine in some individuals, stimulants like this can cause side effects such as restlessness, headaches, jitteriness, nervousness, irritability, insomnia, palpitations, elevated heartbeat and increased blood pressure.

Does Adipozin work?
Adipozin is a new pill that simulates the ingredients contained in the popular diet pill Adipozil. There are insufficient testimonials at present to reach any firm conclusions with regard how effective Adipozil is as a weight loss supplement.

Adipozen dosage
Each bottle of Adipozin contains one month’s supply (60 capsules).

Adipozin ingredients
Adipozin burns fat and contains some patented and clinically evaluated ingredients. The ingredients per serving (1 capsule: 800 mg) include:

ForsLean: ForsLean derived from the root of Coleaus forskohlii. The plant is native to warm temperate habitats, and is the only known plant source of the natural compound forskolin. A number (but not all) of clinical studies have shown that Coleaus forskohlii may cause an increase in heart rate and a decrease in blood pressure. Coleus forskholii has been demonstrated to enhance lipolysis. Many fat burners contain Coleus forskohlii as it appears to have a positive effect on cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). An increased concentration of cAMP can increase thyroid hormone (thyroxin) levels and may also inhibit fat storage. Thyroxin controls metabolism and can enhance metabolic rate, promoting fat loss. In an 8 week clinical study subjects taking ForsLean lost on average 9.9 lbs of body weight compared to the placebo group where only 1.1 lbs of fat was lost.

FucoPure: This compound is the patented version of fucoxanthin, a seaweed extract. A number of studies that have demonstrated fucoxanthin’s ability to increase metabolism, but to date, they have only been carried out on animals. It has been demonstrated clinically that compounds like fucoxanthin have low bioavailability in man (see Br J Nutr. 2008; 100 (2): 273-277).

Green tea: There is some evidence that green tea offers benefits to dieters. Most studies have demonstrated that it is one essential catechin, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), working in combination with caffeine that provides the weight loss benefits. Unfortunately, the manufacturer of Adipozin does not reveal what their green tea is standardized for, so it is impossible to assess the value it adds to the formulation. Green tea may also slow the increase in blood sugar following a meal. It does this by inhibiting the action of a digestive enzyme amylase. This enzyme is responsible for the breakdown of carbohydrates, which can cause blood sugar levels to increase following a meal. Green tea has been reported to promote weight loss by increasing the metabolic rate, boosting calorie burn (e.g. American Journal of Clinical Nutrition 2005; 81(1): 122-129).

Guarana (22% caffeine): This ingredient is a recognized thermogenic agent with clinically demonstrated benefits for weight loss (e.g. Am J Clin Nutr 1989; 49(1):44-50. Am J Clin Nutr 1980; 33(5):989-997), although some findings indicate that it offers greater benefits to lean individuals that to those who are overweight (Am J Physiol 1995; 269(4 Pt 1):E671-8). Guarana also delivers an energy boost. It is incorporated into many fat burners because of its caffeine content and diuretic properties.

Super CitriMax: This compound has been demonstrated clinically to reduce appetite, burn fat and lower blood cholesterol levels. Researchers at Georgetown University Medical Center (Washington, DC) and Andhra University (Visakhapatnam, India) have shown that Super CitriMax can inhibit appetite, promote thermogenesis without apparent side effects. The compound also promotes healthy blood lipid levels. In an 8 week clinical study involving Super CitriMax subjects lost around 12 pounds taking the compound as compared to only 2.3 pounds in the placebo group (J. Med. [2004] 35(1-6):33-48). Interestingly, Super CitriMax has also been shown to increase levels of serum serotonin, a neurotransmitter involved in mood, sleep and appetite control.

Chromax: Also known as chromium polynicotinate, this ingredient is a niacin-bound chromium complex that plays a key role in the regulation of insulin function, and the maintenance of healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Chromium is involved in carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism. The clinical studies that have been carried out on chromium have been inconclusive; some demonstrating that it had a subtle effect on weight loss and others showing that it was ineffective. Chromium has been suggested to be able to help increase energy levels and promote fat loss by balancing blood sugar levels.

Yerba Mate (10% caffeine): This ingredient is sourced from a South American shrub that contains the xanthine alkaloids caffeine, theobromine and theophylline. Yerba mate contains about half the caffeine of coffee. Theobromine and theophylline are stimulants, although they have a less powerful effect on the central nervous system than caffeine. Yerba mate is also contains chlorogenic acid, a compound which may have some weight loss properties. In one clinical study, yerba mate combined with guarana and damiana resulted in delayed gastric emptying and an increased feeling of fullness (J Hum Nutr Diet. 2001.14(3):243-50).

Damiana: A shrub that grows in the southwestern United States and Mexico, it is considered to be a strong aphrodisiac with a variety of reported effects on both the hormonal and reproductive systems. Damiana herb has also been used as a general tonic for both men and women, particularly when hormone-related conditions are present. The herb also has antidepressant, anti-anxiety, diuretic and mild laxative effects.

Glucomannan: This is a soluble fiber. Studies have shown that glucomannan can promote weight loss by absorbing dietary fats. One study (Int J Obes. 1984. 8(4):289-93) showed that 1 gram of glucomannan taken with 8 ounces of water at 1 hour before meals resulted 6 pounds of weight loss over 2 months. Glucomannan can bind with and hinder the absorption of certain nutrients, meaning that it may adversely affect the effectiveness of the other ingredients in this formula.

Chromium polynicotinate (500 mcg): Chromium plays a key role in insulin production, which is important in the regulation of blood sugar levels. Chromium is also involved in carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism. The clinical studies that have been carried out on chromium have given variable results; some have demonstrated that it has a small effect on weight reduction, and others have shown that it has no effect at all.

Pomegranate: Preliminary evidence suggests that concentrated pomegranate juice may reduce blood cholesterol. Pomegranate fruits contain high levels of antioxidants such as polyphenols, tannins and anthocyanins. The pomegranate juice also appears to stimulate the production of nitric oxide, a chemical that helps blood vessels relax.
20-Beta-Hydroxyecdysterone: Other common names for this compound are ecdisten, ecdysone, isoinokosterone, 20-hydroxyecdysone and ecdysterone. It is a polyhydroxylated sterolic growth hormone originally discovered in insects. It can also be found as a naturally occurring phytochemical in the herbs Rhaponticum/Leuzeae and Cyanotis vaga. Over 50 studies have been performed on ecdysterone concluding that it is safe and that it improves muscle growth, increases lean muscle tissue and reduces adipose content. The recommended dose of ecdysterone is 80-120 mg per day and upwards of 400-600 mg per day.

Other Ingredients: Magnesium stearate and gelatin.

Conclusion
Adipozin manufacturers do indicate the composition, but not the quantities of the ingredients contained in the Adipozin formulation . This makes it impossible to evaluate if there are sufficient concentrations of any of the ingredients to be effective as a diet pill at the recommended daily dose.

Mazindol Side Effects

Mazindol is similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an "anorectic" or an "anorexigenic" drug that stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which in turn increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite.

Mazindol is used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of obesity.

You cannot take mazindol if you
  • have heart disease or high blood pressure;
  • have arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries);
  • have glaucoma;
  • have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), or phenelzine (Nardil) in the last 14 days; or
  • have a history of drug or alcohol abuse.
Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Mazindol may cause dizziness, blurred vision, or restlessness, and it may hide the symptoms of extreme tiredness. If you experience these effects, avoid hazardous activities.

If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking mazindol and seek emergency medical attention:
  • an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
  • an irregular heartbeat or very high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision); or
  • hallucinations, abnormal behavior, or confusion.
  • Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take mazindol and talk to your doctor if you experience
  • restlessness or tremor,
  • nervousness or anxiety,
  • headache or dizziness,
  • insomnia,
  • dry mouth or an unpleasant taste in your mouth,
  • diarrhea or constipation, or
  • impotence or changes in your sex drive.

Mazindol is habit forming. You can become physically and psychologically dependent on this medication, and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking it suddenly after several weeks of continuous use. Talk to your doctor about stopping this medication gradually.
Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Zimulti (Rimonabant) Side Effects

Zimulti also goes under the names: Rimonabant, Acomplia, Bethin, Monaslim, Remonabent, Riobant, Slimona, Rimoslim, and Riomont.

In October, 2008, the European Medicines Agency recommended that doctors not prescribe the drug due to the risk of serious psychiatric problems and even suicide. The drug was subsequently suspended.

Shortly after market introduction, press reports and independent studies suggest that side-effects occur stronger and more commonly than shown by the manufacturer in their clinical studies. Resulting from drug actions at CB1 receptors in the brain, reports of severe depression and suicidal thoughts are frequent. As CB1 receptors are fairly ubiquitous throughout the central nervous system, it is not currently understood where exactly the inverse agonist is acting to cause these side-effects.

On June 15, 2007, BBC News reported that a committee advising the U.S. FDA had voted not to recommend the drug's approval because of concerns over suicidality, depression, and other related side-effects associated with use of the drug.

Chromium Side Effects

Chromium is usually in the form Chromium Picolinate and is promoted as a weight-loss enhancing mineral due to it's supposed ability to stabilize blood sugar levels, boosting the body's fat-burning metabolism.

Unfortunately, even thought some research has demonstrated that extra chromium in one's diet may help to normalize sugar-levels in diabetics, most human studies have shown no effect on weight loss.

According to Wikipedia "Deficiency is suspected to cause a disease called chromium deficiency. However, chromium deficiency is thought to be extremely rare in the general population and has only ever been confirmed in three people on parenteral nutrition, which is when a patient is fed a liquid diet through intravenous drips. In contrast, hexavalent chromium is very toxic and mutagenic when inhaled.

The use of chromium-containing dietary supplements is controversial due to the complex effects of the used supplements. The popular dietary supplement chromium picolinate complex generates chromosome damage in hamster cells. In the United States the dietary guidelines for daily chromium uptake were lowered from 50-200 µg for an adult to 35 µg (adult male) and to 25 µg (adult female).

Water insoluble chromium(III) compounds and chromium metal are not considered a health hazard, while the toxicity and carcinogenic properties of chromium(VI) have been known for a long time.

Because of the specific transport mechanisms, only limited amounts of chromium(III) enter the cells. Several in vitro studies indicated that high concentrations of chromium(III) in the cell can lead to DNA damage. Acute oral toxicity ranges between 1500 and 3300 µg/kg. The proposed beneficial effects of chromium(III) and the use as dietary supplements yielded some controversial results, but recent reviews suggest that moderate uptake of chromium(III) through dietary supplements poses no risk.

The acute oral toxicity for chromium(VI) ranges between 50 and 150 µg/kg. In the body, chromium(VI) is reduced by several mechanisms to chromium(III) already in the blood before it enters the cells. The chromium(III) is excreted from the body, whereas the chromate ion is transferred into the cell by a transport mechanism, by which also sulfate and phosphate ions enter the cell. The acute toxicity of chromium(VI) is due to its strong oxidational properties. After it reaches the blood stream, it damages the kidneys, the liver and blood cells through oxidation reactions. Hemolysis, renal and liver failure are the results of these damages. Aggressive dialysis can improve the situation.

The carcinogenity of chromate dust is known for a long time, and in 1890 the first publication described the elevated cancer risk of workers in a chromate dye company. Three mechanisms have been proposed to describe the genotoxicity of chromium(VI). The first mechanism includes highly reactive hydroxyl radicals and other reactive radicals which are by products of the reduction of chromium(VI) to chromium(III). The second process includes the direct binding of chromium(V), produced by reduction in the cell, and chromium(IV) compounds to the DNA. The last mechanism attributed the genotoxicity to the binding to the DNA of the end product of the chromium(III) reduction.

Chromium salts (chromates) are also the cause of allergic reactions in some people. Chromates are often used to manufacture, amongst other things, leather products, paints, cement, mortar and anti-corrosives. Contact with products containing chromates can lead to allergic contact dermatitis and irritant dermatitis, resulting in ulceration of the skin, sometimes referred to as "chrome ulcers". This condition is often found in workers that have been exposed to strong chromate solutions in electroplating, tanning and chrome-producing manufacturers."

Co-enzyme Q10 Side Effects

Co-enzyme Q10 is also known as Ubiquinone and found in pulses, spinach and offal. It helps convert food to energy and has anti-oxidant properties that have proved helpful for some heart conditions.

Maybe because it helps combat fatigue, encouraging people to exercise, co-enzyme Q10 has gained the reputation of helping people to lose weight.

There hasn't been , as yet, any clear evidence that co-enzyme q10 is effective for weight loss.

According to Wikipedia "Meat and fish are the richest source of dietary CoQ10. The compound is non-equally distributed among different tissues of the same animal source, depending on their function. Different levels can be found in the heart, liver, muscle etc.. CoQ10 levels over 50 mg/kg can be found in beef, pork and chicken heart and chicken liver.

Dairy products are much poorer sources of CoQ10 compared to animal tissues, while a modest amount can be found in butter – 7 mg/kg.

Substantial differences in reported CoQ10 contents have been observed in fish, in particular mackerel and sardine. Mackerel and herring were recently studied in detail, and the highest CoQ10 level was also found in the heart tissue (105-148 μg/g). while lower concentrations were found in the body tissue (mackerel: 67μg/g in the red tissue, 15μg/g in the white tissue; herring tissue: 15–24 μg/g). Flat fish, eels and other bottom fish have lower contents of CoQ10. Low CoQ10 levels were also found in salmon (4-8 mg/kg), despite its significant fat content. Fish and shellfish represent an important dietary source of CoQ10 (estimated at 9%-22% in different countries).

Vegetable oils are also quite rich in CoQ10. Very different results can be found in the literature for CoQ10 levels in soybean, corn and olive oil. Soybean, rapeseed and olive oil are also good sources of CoQ10. Some oils, particularly corn oil, are much richer in CoQ9 than in CoQ10.

Peanuts, sesame seeds, and pistachio are the richest CoQ10 representatives within nuts and seeds, with levels over 20 mg/kg. Many other nuts are also good sources of this compound.

Within vegetables, parsley, and perilla are the richest CoQ10 sources, but significant differences in their CoQ10 levels can be found in the literature. Broccoli, grape, and cauliflower are modest sources of CoQ10. Most fruit and berries represent a poor to very poor source of CoQ10, with the exception of avocado, with a relatively high CoQ10 content."

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) Side Effects

CLA is defined as "metabolic by-products resulting from the conversion of linoleic acid to oleic acid by rumen bacteria". It is a naturally occurring compound that is found mainly in meat and dairy foods. For optimal weight loss results it should to be ingested in quantity, via supplements.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid affects enzymes & typically reduces the rate at that the body deposits fat. It also tends to increase lean tissue formation which boosts metabolism.

After exercise and weight loss tests, reported in the Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the American Chemical Society declared that CLA can assist people losing weight and also improve their muscle/fat ratio.

Even with it's weight loss results to date, CLA is still a new supplement. More health trials and weight loss tests are needed.

According to Wikipedia "Thirty four intervention studies were conducted using CLA in humans investigate the effects of CLA to reduce body fat, especially abdominal fat. The effect of CLA on fat mass is so small; therefore, it is not the answer to the prevalence of obesity, but it can be used as an additional tool for those individuals with a healthy lifestyle and exercise program to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight. A maximum reduction in body fat was achieved with a daily dose of 3.4g.

There are concerns that the use of CLA supplements by overweight people may tend to cause or to aggravate insulin resistance, which may increase their risk of developing diabetes.

Research indicates that supplementation with t10c12 CLA dramatically increases rates of oxidative stress, to levels considerably higher than that observed in heavy smokersHowever, the evidence is controversial, and some studies using a mixture of c9t11 and t10c12 CLA showed no changes in insulin sensitivity.[31][32] Although researchers are still not sure of the long term health effects of consuming CLA from supplements, foods naturally enriched in CLA, such as beef and dairy, are a safe alternative.

In one study t10c12 CLA produced a 32% increase in biliary cholesterol concentration which increases the chance of gallstone formation.

In 2006, a study by the US Department of Agriculture suggested that CLA can induce essential fatty acid redistribution in mice. Changes in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (AA) levels were observed in some organs. For instance, the t10,c12 CLA reduced the DHA content of heart tissue by 25%, while in the spleen, DHA content rose, and AA fell. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid important to cardiovascular health and the dramatic reduction of DHA in heart tissue can have serious health consequences. In contrast, c9,t11 CLA did not alter DHA content in the heart, but did reduce spleen DHA slightly. A study of CLA supplementation (equal amounts of c9,t11 and t10,c12) in hatchling chicks (2005) showed high mortality and low hatchability rates among CLA-supplemented groups, and also a decrease in brain DHA levels of CLA-treated chicks[1]. These studies raise the question of whether CLA may increase the risk of cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases, but it has yet to be established whether such changes occur in humans, and whether they are clinically relevant.

Cholecystokinin (CKK) Side Effects

Cholecystokinin (CKK) is a sort of naturally occurring appetite-suppressant. When food is digested and your body cells feel 'fed', CKK is released and your brain tells you to stop eating.

However, some researchers believe that the CKK appetite mechanism doesn't work properly in some people. This is possibly due to excessive dieting or binge eating and purging, and it can cause the person to stop eating too soon, or even to overeat.

Weight loss drug companies are working on Cholecystokinin-booster supplements to reduce appetite in those who suffer from severe obesity. How effective these boosters are will remain to be seen.

Accoring to Wikipedia "CCK mediates a number of physiological processes, including digestion and satiety. It's located in the small intestine, and detects the presence of fat in the chyme. CCK then tells the stomach to slow down the speed of digestion so the small intestine can effectively digest the fats.

Secretion of CCK by the duodenal and intestinal mucosa is stimulated by fat- or protein-rich chyme entering the duodenum. It then inhibits gastric emptying and gastric acid secretion and mediates digestion in the duodenum. It stimulates the acinar cells of the pancreas to release water and ions and stimulates the secretion of a juice rich in pancreatic digestive enzymes, hence the old name pancreozymin. Together these enzymes catalyze the digestion of fat, protein, and carbohydrates. Thus, as the levels of the substances that stimulated the release of CCK drop, the concentration of the hormone drops as well. The release of CCK is also inhibited by somatostatin.

CCK also causes the increased production of hepatic bile, and stimulates the contraction of the gall bladder and the relaxation of the Sphincter of Oddi (Glisson's sphincter), resulting in the delivery of bile into the duodenal part of the small intestine. Bile salts form amphipathic micelles that emulsify fats, aiding in their digestion and absorption.

As a neuropeptide, CCK mediates satiety by acting on the CCK receptors distributed widely throughout the central nervous system. In humans, it has been suggested that CCK administration causes nausea and anxiety, and induces a satiating effect. Some studies have given a strong correlation for the satiating effect, but have not proven or disproven that CCK administration causes nausea or anxiety. The mechanism for this hunger suppression is thought to be a decrease in the rate of gastric emptying.

CCK also has stimulatory effects on the vagus nerve, effects that can be inhibited by capsaicin.[citation needed] The stimulatory effects of CCK oppose those of ghrelin, which has been shown to inhibit the vagus nerve.[citation needed] The CCK tetrapeptide fragment CCK-4 (Trp-Met-Asp-Phe-NH2) reliably causes anxiety when administered to humans, and is commonly used in scientific research to induce panic attacks for the purpose of testing new anxiolytic drugs.

The effects of CCK vary between individuals. For example, in rats, CCK administration significantly reduces hunger in young males, but is slightly less effective in older subjects, and even slightly less effective in females. The hunger-suppressive effects of CCK also are reduced in obese rats."

Sibutramine Side Effects

Sibutramine (also known as Meridia) is one of a new class of appetite suppressants that works on the brain's appetite center. It makes the brain think the stomach is full by raising levels of seratonin. Seratonin is an important neurotransmitter in the brain.

According to Wikipedia "A higher number of cardiovascular events has been observed in people taking sibutramine verses control groups (11.4% vs. 10.0%). In 2010 the FDA noted the concerns that sibutramine increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease.

Frequently encountered side effects are: dry mouth, paradoxically increased appetite, nausea, strange taste in the mouth, upset stomach, constipation, trouble sleeping, dizziness, drowsiness, menstrual cramps/pain, headache, flushing, or joint/muscle pain.

Sibutramine can substantially increase blood pressure and pulse in some patients. Therefore regular monitoring needs to be performed.

The following side effects are infrequent but serious and require immediate medical attention: cardiac arrhythmias, paresthesia, mental/mood changes (e.g., excitement, restlessness, confusion, depression, rare thoughts of suicide).

Symptoms that require urgent medical attention are seizures, problems urinating, abnormal bruising or bleeding, melena, hematemesis, jaundice, fever and rigors, chest pain, hemiplegia, abnormal vision, dyspnea and edema.

Currently, no case of pulmonary hypertension has been noted, although related compounds (such as Fen-Phen) have shown this rare but clinically significant problem.

[edit] Interactions
Sibutramine has a number of clinically significant interactions. The concomitant use of sibutramine and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs, such as selegiline) is not indicated, as it may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome, a somewhat rare but serious adverse drug reaction. Sibutramine should not be taken within two weeks of stopping or starting an MAOI. Taking both sibutramine and certain medications used in the treatment of migraines—such as ergolines and triptans—, as well as opioids, may also increase the risk for serotonin syndrome, as may the use of more than one serotonin reuptake inhibitor at the same time.

The concomitant use of sibutramine and drugs which inhibit CYP3A4, such as ketoconazole and erythromycin, may increase plasma levels of sibutramine. Sibutramine does not affect the efficacy of hormonal contraception."

Chitosan Side Effects

Chitosan is derived from a polysaccharide found in the exoskeleton of shellfish such as shrimp, lobster, and or crabs that is called chitin.

Marketers claim that chitosan causes a lowering of cholesterol and weight loss by binding fats in the stomach thereby preventing them from being digested and absorbed.

According to Wikipedia

"Most recent studies point out that chitin is a good inducer for defense mechanisms in plants. It was recently tested as a fertilizer that can help plants develop healthy immune responses, and have a much better yield and life expectancy. The EPA regulates chitin for agricultural use within the USA. Chitosan is derived from chitin, which is used as a biocontrol elicitor in agriculture and horticulture.

Chitin is used industrially in many processes. It is used as an additive to thicken and stabilize foods and pharmaceuticals. It also acts as a binder in dyes, fabrics, and adhesives. Industrial separation membranes and ion-exchange resins can be made from chitin. Processes to size and strengthen paper employ chitin.

Chitin's properties as a flexible and strong material make it favorable as surgical thread. Its biodegradibility means it wears away with time as the wound heals. Moreover, chitin has some unusual properties that accelerate healing of wounds in humans.

Occupations associated with high environmental chitin levels, such as shellfish processors, are prone to high incidences of asthma. Recent studies have suggested that chitin may play a role in a possible pathway in human allergic disease. Specifically, mice treated with chitin develop an allergic response, characterized by a build-up of interleukin-4 expressing innate immune cells. In these treated mice, additional treatment with a chitinase enzyme abolishes the response."

Even though there have been some promising research that shows chitosan may have a cholesterol-lowering effect in animals, there hasn't been any such evidence in humans. So far there no research indicates that chitosan is effective for weight loss.

Cenalex Side Effects

Most of the research showed that Cenalex is 100% safe and free of side effects. None of the ingredients listed on the bottle and the website indicated any harmful substances added to the supplement. One Cenalex review claimed that the product contains caffeine. Caffeine may cause restlessness, anxiety, and rapid heart rate in some people. There is no evidence to support this in our research. Either the product does not contain caffeine, or it only has trace elements that are not enough to cause any side effects. We advise anyone who has an issue with caffeine to research more into its possible use in Cenalex.

Cellulean - Cellulean Side Effects - Does it Really Work?

I decided to write this article because I have been seeing a lot of companies that are competing in the cellulite market, trying to start Cellulean Scam rumours, and talking about Cellulean Side Effects. And I just couldn't take all of these rumours being out there without putting in my two cents worth. And the reason is because I am not another company that is trying to sell someone a different product. And because I am a regular consumer that myself as a woman trying to get rid of cellulite and has used Cellulean personally.

Let me start by saying that I usually write review articles about products, but I am going to do something a little different this time. I am going to tell you my personal experience using a product and what it did and did not do for me.

First things first after trying to get rid of cellulite for endless months, and trying every so called remedy and cure that I could find including everything from home made remedies, prescription creams, coffee concoctions, diets, exercises, and even tried using preparation h to get rid of it. And of everything that I tried the only thing that I got any satisfaction at all from was Cellulean.

After running into a friend at the beach that was also battling with the ugly unhealthy looking skin, she was showing me that hers was completely gone, and I must say she looked great. She said that she had heard about it from a friend and after using it for just a few weeks her cellulite had almost disappeared. So of course after seeing the proof with my own eyes I could not wait to try it for myself. And that is exactly what I did.

It has been 4 weeks now since I started using it and my cellulite is about 65-70% gone. I figure with a few more weeks use that it will be totally gone. Now this is my personal experience, but anyone that I have talked to that uses it, and 4 of my friends that I have told about it, that have only been using it for about 2 and a half weeks are seeing very noticeable results already

So as far as a Cellulean Scam, in my opinion the only scam is the competitors trying to convince you that it does not work. And as far as Celluline Side Effects well let me see, it firms your skin, shrinks up fat in the areas where it is used (it shrunk my hips between 1 and 2 inches and one inch on my belly), it makes your skin look much healthier, and for me I have got my confidence back. So the only side effects that I experienced were the ones that I wanted. I would recommend Cellulean to anyone from my own personal experience and not from some trumped up review. And for the Question Does Cellulean Really Work, from my experience and the results of others that I have seen with my own eyes, the answer is YES.

At the time of writing this article I found a site that is offering a totally guaranteed free trial of it. I am not sure if it will be available when you read this, but it is worth a try. So if you like I was, are sick of wasting time trying all of those Cellulite Home Remedies and would like to try the same formula that my friends and I have all used to change our lives, I have added the following link to the free trial that I found Cellulean. Or if you are battling with this and want more information about it, what it is, and what it can do to help you achieve the goals that you want, you can get more information at:

Xenical Side Effects

Loose stools and increased gas or flatulence are indications of Xenical side effects. Because Xenical works by blocking the absorption of dietary fat, it is likely that additional Xenical side effects will manifest in bowel habits such as oily spotting, gas with discharge, the urgent need to go to the bathroom, oily or fatty stools, an oily discharge, an increased number of bowel movements, and possibly the inability to control your bowel movements. Due to the presence of undigested fat, the oil seen in a bowel movement may be clear, orange or brown.

These bowel changes are natural Xenical side effects which really are just the body saying no to the absorption of fat. If this bowel changes happen, it indicates that Xenical is working. Xenical side effects typically occur early in the regimen particularly after meals containing higher amounts of fat than are recommended. These symptoms are often temporary and may lessen or disappear as you continue treatment. Stay disciplined and keep to your recommended diet of meals which should contain no more than approximately 30% fat. Xenical side effects may occur in some individuals over a period of 6 months or longer.

Additionally, Xenical diet drugs can reduce the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients like beta-carotene or Vitamin E. So, it might be a good idea to start a new eating regimen alongside the Xenical diet drugs that is rich in fruits and vegetables.

If you are taking cyclosporine, keep in mind that both Xenical and cyclosporine can be taken as part of the same regimen but not taken together. Xenical and cyclosporine should be taken at least 2 hours apart. If your cyclosporine levels are being measured, more frequent monitoring may be necessary.

Other Xenical Side Effects
Other Xenical side effects may include allergies to the Xenical diet drug itself or chronic malabsorption syndromes such as sprue or steatorrhea. Xenical diet drugs are not intended to be used in children under the age of twelve years nor in pregnant or nursing women.

Xenical diet drugs may be right for you if you are overweight (20% - 30% above ideal weight or a body mass index of 27 or greater) or if you face other risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, or diabetes. But, consult your physician first.

Patients might exhibit Xenical side effects if they:
  • Experience chronic malabsorption
  • Suffer from gallbladder issues
  • Are pregnant or are breastfeeding a child
  • Are allergic to orlistat or any of the inactive ingredients in Xenical.
Before you purchase Xenical online or anywhere else, indicate to your doctor if you:
  • suffer from allergies to any medicines, foods, or dyes
  • have begun another weight-loss regimen
  • take cyclosporine
  • take any other medicines (including those not prescribed by your doctor)
  • take any dietary supplements, including herbal products
  • plan to become pregnant
  • suffer from anorexia or bulimia.

Phentermine Side Effects

Before taking the phentermine diet drug and to avoid phentermine side effects, consult your doctor if you experience high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, glaucoma, diabetes and emotional problems, or are pregnant or breast-feeding. Alcohol can also increase unwanted Phentermine side effects, sometimes in the form of dizziness. Please limit your intake of alcohol while on the Phentermine diet drug regimen. Actually, it might be best to just avoid using alcohol at all. We’ve always been on the conservative side in combining alcohol and diet drugs. We just prefer not to.

Are there Phentermine Side Effects?
It is possible that you will experience Phentermine side effects and they may include blurred vision, dizziness, dry mouth, sleeplessness, irritability, stomach upset or constipation. Phentermine side effects may occur during the first few days of treatment because your body may need to adjust to the phentermine diet pill dosage. If you continue to experience any of the aforementioned side effects as a result of taking Phentermine, consult your doctor. Explain to your doctor your complete medical history especially if you experience chest pain, nervousness, heart pounding, difficulty urinating, mood swings or mood changes, breathing difficulties, or even swelling.

Children are not equipped physically to handle Phentermine diet drugs so keep phentermine or any diet drug out of the reach of children. It is not recommended for use by children. If other Phentermine side effects do make themselves apparent, make sure to immediately contact your doctor or pharmacist. Phentermine side effects are manageable in adults but may lead to more serious consequences if ingested by children or minors. Always know and understand the ramifications of any medicine you ingest beforehand.

Inform your doctor of all the medicines you use, (prescription and nonprescription) especially if you take high blood pressure medicine, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) or any other diet drug medicine. A third party resource is offered in case you desire to purchase phentermine online.

Phendimetrazine Side Effects

If you experience any of the following serious Phendimetrazine 35mg side effects, stop taking the diet drug and seek emergency medical attention: an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, closing of your throat, swelling of your lips, tongue, face or even hives), or an irregular heartbeat or very high blood pressure which may lead to severe headache or blurred vision. Other Phendimetrazine 35mg side effects may include hallucinations, abnormal behavior, or confusion.

Other, less serious indications of Phendimetrazine 35mg side effects may also occur. Before continuing to take phendimetrazine 35mg talk to your doctor if you experience restlessness or tremor, nervousness or anxiety, headache or dizziness, insomnia, dry mouth or an unpleasant taste in your mouth, diarrhea or constipation, or impotence or changes in your sex drive.

Remember that Phendimetrazine 35mg is habit forming and is similar in form to amphetamines. You can become physically and psychologically dependent on it and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking it suddenly after several weeks of continuous use. Talk to your doctor if you are considering a cessation in your regimen and before you stop phendimetrazine 35mg, even if you stop gradually. You could experience other Phendimetrazine 35mg side effects other than those listed. Talk to your doctor about any additional side effects that seem unusual or are especially bothersome.

Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Other Phendimetrazine 35mg side effects may include dizziness, blurred vision, or restlessness, and they may hide the symptoms of extreme fatigue. If you experience these side effects, avoid hazardous activities. Again, Phendimetrazine 35mg is habit forming. Do not ever crush, chew, or open any "once-daily" Phendimetrazine 35mg tablets or capsules. Swallow them whole.

Avoiding Phendimetrazine 35mg Side Effects
You cannot take phendimetrazine 35mg or phendimetrazine 105mg for that matter if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), or phenelzine (Nardil) in the last 14 days. Changes in insulin and other diabetes drug therapies may be necessary during treatment with Phendimetrazine 35mg. Phendimetrazine 35mg may reduce the effects of guanethidine (Ismelin) and thus could lead to an increase in your blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you are taking guanethidine.

Before taking phendimetrazine 35mg, consult with your doctor especially if you are taking a tricyclic antidepressant such as amitriptyline (Elavil), amoxapine (Asendin), doxepin (Sinequan), nortriptyline (Pamelor), imipramine (Tofranil), clomipramine (Anafranil), protriptyline (Vivactil), or desipramine (Norpramin). These drugs may decrease the effects of the diet drug. Drugs other than those listed here may also interact or be contraindicated with Phendimetrazine 35mg. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines.

Summary of Phendimetrazine 35mg Side Effects
Before you purchase Phendimetrazine online, be aware of all ramifications and effects this drug may have on your body and physiology. For instance, on the cardiovascular: palpitation, tachycardia, elevation of blood pressure. On the central nervous system: overstimulation, restlessness, dizziness, insomnia, tremor, headache; rarely psychotic episodes at recommended doses, agitation, flushing, sweating, blurring of vision. And on the gastrointestinal: dryness of the mouth, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, stomach pain. Lastly, on the genitourinary: changes in libido, urinary frequency, dysuria.

Meridia Side Effects

The most common Meridia side effects include headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, anorexia, constipation and insomnia. Meridia diet drugs are a controlled substance and as a controlled substance dependency issues can always arise. If Meridia side effects due to dependency or overdose persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly.

Patients typically are advised that Meridia side effects can occur if they are taking prescription medicines called monoamine oxidase inhibitors, also known as MAOIs, which are sometimes used to treat depression or Parkinson's disease. To avoid Meridia side effects, do not ingest MAO Inhibitors and Meridia together and if one or the other drug is part of your regimen and you cease to take it, make sure to wait two weeks before beginning a regimen that includes the other drug.

Meridia side effects can become bothersome and potentially dangerous if you use other diet drugs or fat reducing agents. Make sure to inform your doctor of all non-prescription and prescription medication you use. Also, you run the risk of inducing Meridia side effects by really combining your diet drug regimen with any drug. These following drugs are absolutely not recommended for use: decongestant drugs that can raise blood pressure such as pseudo ephedrine or phenylpropanolamine, or cough suppressants like dextromethorphan, or antidepressants like nefazodone, fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, venlafaxine, or lithium or other psychiatric medications (e.g., MAO Inhibitors such as selegiline, moclobemide, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine).

Additional Meridia Side EffectsAdditional Meridia side effects can occur if you take drugs for migraines (e.g., dihydroergotamine, sumatriptan), tryptophan, certain narcotic pain relievers (e.g., meperidine, pentazocine, fentanyl), ketoconazole, erythromycin, high blood pressure medicine or any drugs that can cause drowsiness, including certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), sedatives and anti-seizure drugs. Antihistamines and decongestants may be found in many nonprescription drugs for cough and cold so be careful even when you have a touch of the flu. Always consult your pharmacist or doctor if you are considering combining any drug. It is better to ask than to be subject to intense Meridia side effects.

Meridia diet drugs should not be used in patients with a history of coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, or stroke. Meridia side effects in this regard include a substantial increase in blood pressure and heart rate in some patients so regular monitoring of blood pressure is required. Meridia diet drugs should also be given with caution to those patients with a history of hypertension and are usually not given to patients with uncontrolled or poorly controlled hypertension.

To avoid unnecessary Meridia side effects, make sure to inform your doctor of your entire medical history including any allergies (especially drug allergies), liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure or heart disease, a history of stroke or seizures, certain eating disorders (e.g., anorexia nervosa), glaucoma (narrow angle), or if you have a history of gallstones. Absolutely limit your alcohol intake. It is preferable that you cease your alcohol intake during your Meridia regimen.

It is recommended that women of child-bearing age should use effective birth control while taking Meridia diet drugs. Meridia is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Studies have shown that adult obese subjects that were instructed in the management of their diet and were treated with anorectic drugs such as ionamin lose more weight on the average than those treated with placebo and diet. This was determined in relatively short-term clinical trials. The amount of weight loss associated with the use of an anorectic drug like Ionamin varies from trial to trial and the increased weight loss appears to be related not only to Ionamin diet drugs but also to the physician, the population treated and the diet prescribed. The issue really is that obesity is measured in years while the treatment of obesity occurs over time and weight loss usually is on a much more rapid schedule. In addition, diet drug research has really only been clinically studied in short bursts and has been restricted to a few weeks in duration.
